‘Style Me Vintage’ Book Launch
Annabel from the well known wedding blog – ‘Love My Dress’ asked us to plan her party to promote the launch of her book ‘Style Me Vintage’ . The brief was to come up with something that was in keeping with the subject of the book and Annabel wanted to incorporate lots of vintage props to decorate the space.
The venue that we choose was a slightly ‘rough around the edges’ event space in East London which had exposed bricks and dramatic red drapes. We hired gorgeous and original vintage pieces of furniture for guests and used shabby chic dressers to display the book, alongside beautiful blooms tumbling out of the drawers. Giant illuminated letters that spelt SMV for ‘Style MeVintage ‘ provided a welcome backdrop and the entertainment was a mixture of a band playing vintage jazz classics, combined with a DJ playing records on vintage record players, all with a silent black and white movie projected backdrop. The canapés were presented in unusual ways such as in pretty vanity cases and were served by models dressed in stunning bridal gowns. To add to the sense of fun for the evening, there was a wooden vintage – style camera and red drape photo booth complete with similar props which was popular as always.

“Oh Melanie. Where to even begin?!? Melanie Helen is a God-send! She is the epitome of cool, calm, collected and in complete control, I will never plan another event in my life without her support. She is simply amazing!
You were just incredible. My memories of the evening will forever make me smile. It was absolutely perfect on every level and I am so so happy I got to work with you. You exceeded any expectation I had of working with a professional event planner. I’ve been inundated with people coming up to me who were either there or who had seen the images and they were raving and raving about it. Lots of people have said it’s the best industry event by far they have ever been too – I kid you not! So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much”.
