It’s amazing how quickly time flies, and last summer we were lucky enough to have organised Aiste and Rhys’ wedding.  As we’ve just passed their first year wedding anniversary we wanted to feature their gorgeous and intimate wedding as it still looks as fresh and elegant as it did on the day.

Aiste’s vision was feminine, elegant and romantic but she wasn’t sure how to make this a reality, which is where we came in. The colour palette was actually the driving force behind the concept initially and we called it ‘As Dusk Falls’. The designer Vera Wang also had a strong influence both in terms of the delicate nature of the fabrics used but also the soft colours. The floral design was incredibly important, these had to be in abundance throughout without being ostentatious and relatively tightly packed. Detail throughout was also key and as a result we used a range of different suppliers from across the country to hire the perfect items to make the look as cohesive as possible.

Thank-you to photographer Steven Brooks for allowing us to use the photos.

So over to Aiste…

When and where did you meet?
We both work for the same company and, although we also work in the same team, we didn’t really see much of each other. In 2012 we were both sent to the US for “a couple of weeks”, and came back to the UK around two years later. After a log day at the office, followed by a team outing to a local bar, we got talking and really hit it off. The rest is history!

Who proposed to who?
Rhys proposed to Aiste.

How? Where? Was it a surprise?
Rhys planned a surprise trip to Mauritius for us to unwind after two years of working seven days a week. After spending a couple of nights in paradise, he arranged a private dinner on the beach. We had a wonderful evening of tasty food and very moreish wine, followed by a beautiful stroll back to our ocean villa. Ending the night with a bottle of Champagne, Rhys got down on one knee – it was a total shock! It couldn’t have been more perfect.

What did you find the easiest thing to organise with our help?
The hardest part was finding a wedding planner. But once we have secured Cranberry Blue and found a venue, the rest was easy. If I have to name an area, it was great to have Melanie finding and coordinating so many great suppliers, both throughout the planning phase and the day itself.

What did you find the trickiest thing to organise with our help?
I think it’s fair to say that we took a while to decide on the venue. Because we were set on the date, that shortened the available list quite considerably. And putting lots of other requirements on top, Melanie had a hard task to find something suitable, but we got there and couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Did you enjoy the planning process?
Yes! We loved the fact that we received thorough proposals on all the details, and all supplier meetings were organised for us so all we had to do was choose a suitable option and wait for the day. I have to add that the food, cake and wine tastings were great too!

Why did you choose Kirtlington Park?
It’s a very beautiful and private venue that was right for a small number of guests we had. Looking back at the pictures, we definitely made the right decision, it looks stunning.

What did your bridesmaids wear?
We chose blush floor length gowns from White by Vera Wang collection.

Can you describe the style and look you had in mind for your wedding day?
I wanted something neutral, elegant and romantic. With lots of flowers and personalised details.

How did Cranberry Blue help to create this vision?
Melanie created a few proposals with different styles and colours and advised us on what would look great on the day. I found the visuals she had put together very helpful. Once we settled on the style, she found a range of amazing details from different suppliers and put them all together to create the full look – the result was wonderful!

What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole day was fantastic and absolutely perfect. From getting ready and not worrying about the details because Melanie and her team had everything in hand, to leaving the venue with our guest’s smiling widely, we couldn’t have asked for more.

What do you feel made your wedding day stand out from other peoples’?
Décor and flawless organisation.

Do you have a top tip for brides-to-be?
Hire a wedding planner, Cranberry Blue to be exact! The best decision we made in the whole planning process.

Can you say a few words about working with Cranberry Blue…
It was a great pleasure! We want to say a big thank you to Melanie and the team for making our day so incredibly special. The level of support, guidance and creative direction provided far surpassed our expectations.  A year has gone by and we still get comments about how wonderful our day was and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to – something that wouldn’t have been possible without your help. From managing the smallest of details, to the recommending superb suppliers, you guys made our day perfect.

Thank-you to Aiste and Rhys for contributing to this feature, it was genuinely an absolute pleasure working with them to create their perfect day and we wish them every happiness for the future x
