Wedding Worthy Looks From the Catwalk…

Wedding Worthy Looks From the Catwalk…

For the past few weeks the fashionistas have been keeping a close eye on what new trends are coming through on the catwalks, so far New York, London and Milan have showcased and Paris is still to come.  With a background originally in fashion I’m always keen to stay up to date with this as colours and overall trends filter through to the wedding market.  There are always some stunning dresses that you can easily see translating into wedding gowns and this year has been no exception.  For today’s post I had planned to show you some of my runway favourites, however Zac Posen’s show was so amazing that I have decided to dedicate this purely to him …

Structure

These two dresses were in fact shown earlier this summer as part of Zac Posen’s ‘Resort’ collection but I had to include them as they are simply jaw-droppingly stunning!  The delicate blush tone which has been made an appearance in bridal wear in recent seasons, makes it feel even newer, although admittedly not the easiest of colors to wear if you have pale skin like me.  The slim fitting silhouettes with the volume at the skirt and puff sleeves are divine!

Statement Ballgown

A classic silhouette, again in a soft pink but with the ruched detail, giant puff ball skirt and a touch of shimmer to make this a real statement piece.

Slinky

Bias cut, elegant dresses – I love the cape detail and necklines of these.

Soft Ruffles

The satin bodice detail underneath the delicate chiffon makes this dress ultra feminine.  The one shoulder and cinched in waist are complimented beautifully by the flowing and layered skirt.

This dress has a slight Spanish feel to it, I love the sheer fabric and how the colour deepens with the layers. You can imagine how well this dress moves if you were sashaying down the aisle.

Structure

Amazing!  You’re probably seeing the style that I like now…structure, volume – this is a real statement piece whilst being very wearable at the same time.  The cut is incredible and I love the abstract floral print, this whole dress would translate very easily into different colours and fabrics.

This dress is also from Zac Posen’s Resort collection – a relatively classic silhouette with structure and pleating around the wait and bust.  The subtle print detail could translate beautifully into a bridal gown with the addition of beading.

Bold

Ok, so not the easiest of silhouettes to wear as is, but imagine a slimmed down version with some lace and beading detailing…

Back detail

To finish I have included this soft draped dress from the Resort collection…
