GC Couture asked us to come up with a design concept and plan an event in it’s entirety, to mark the launch of their 2016 luxury cake collection. The guests were a select group of leading members of press and the event industry alike. The idea stemmed from the inspiration behind the cakes themselves which was the Four Seasons. We used four LED trees to represent each season, and the corresponding cakes were displayed beneath each one.
During the drinks reception guests were served a total of four taster cocktails, one every twenty minutes, which were each paired with a bite sized piece of cake in a complimenting flavour. The lighting changed very subtly, starting with bright ‘spring’ like colours and moving through to icy blue ‘winter’ colours. To heighten the experience, each tree was scented to match the season. After the reception guests were then invited to take their seats for a Champagne afternoon tea, where for a bit of fun we had a specialist talking about the etiquette for afternoon tea.

“When looking for an event planner to work with us on the launch of our 2016 cake collection, we wanted someone who understood our ethos, brand and dealing with clients in the high-end market. When we met Melanie and told her about our plans and the event style we wanted, she picked it up very quickly. The professionalism Melanie has portrayed has been superb. She’s great fun to work with, easy going and nothing is too much trouble, and for us I think that’s what makes it work as we’re easy-going people and we wanted someone to share in what would be a great event.
It was a pleasure to have Cranberry Blue on board to design and plan our cake launch. Melanie has all the right attributes, professionalism and vision one could ask for and has bought our event to life – a big thank you Melanie from all of us at GC Couture!”
